Introduction to d5 format

What is D5 format?

The D5 format is the official file format supported by D5 Render and D5 Lite. It includes .d5a files for models and .d5m files for materials. By creating your products in D5 format through D5 Works, you can enhance their visibility and appeal to a wider audience.

How to create D5 format?

Creating D5 format files is quick and simple. Let's use the .d5a model format as an example:

  1. Import your model file (e.g., .skp, .3dm, .abc, .fbx, etc.) directly into D5 Render.

  2. In the Inspector panel, click the “Add to Local” button. D5 will automatically convert your model into the .d5a format.

Finally, locate the ‘D5 WorkSpace\model’ directory on your local computer, where the .d5a files are the models you just saved locally. Now, the format conversion of the model files to D5 format is complete!

D5 continues to optimize the D5 format creation process to make it even more efficient, helping you focus on creativity.
